Sagrada Familia! by husband

Hello! How are you all doing?

I'm in great shape. I would like to say this, but with the depreciation of the yen and the crash of the stock market, I feel a little sad. . .

However, the late Antonio Inoki, who passed away the other day, also said this.

If you have the energy, you can do anything! and

So no matter what happens, I want you to stay healthy!

And this time it's the same Antonio, but it's a story about being involved in Antonio Gaudi .

After all, many people with Antonio are geniuses? !

When you think of Barcelona, ā€‹ā€‹the first thing that comes to mind is the Sagrada Familia. I've been to the Sagrada Familia twice in the past month! Huh, now? I think some people think. Of course, I've been there several times in the past, but this time I went once with the guests during the first Seiya tour held at the end of October, and once before that for preparation.

Seiya Tour?

That's right! Six members of a salon run by a famous influencer who is also a senior at my previous company will come to Barcelona on a trip, and I will be the full attendant for a joint project. I was.

I would like to write about this tour full of laughter and tears at a later date.

Well, this time I would like to write about Antonio Gaudi's masterpiece, Sagrada Familia!

By the way, did you know that Gaudi is the second designer?

The original designer was Francisco Villar. However, due to an internal conflict of opinion, he resigned after a year of construction, and Gaudi took over the project afterwards.

Sagrada Familia means "Holy Family" in Catalan. It was to be built as a church for everyone, especially the poor.

However, this Sagrada Familia, construction began in 1882, more than 140 years later, it is still unfinished.

In Catalonia, people joke that things don't end well, like the Sagrada Familia. For example, the person in front of you won't come out of the toilet, is your home Sagrada Familia? Is this how it is? I've never actually used it.

Does it feel like "delivery from a soba restaurant" that you don't often come to in Japan? ! smile

It was said to be completed in 2026, but this has also been significantly delayed due to the effects of corona and other factors. 2026 was a year of great significance. It was the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's burial. So I wanted to complete it this year, but now it is said to be 2030 or later.

But why are you so late?

There is a reason for this, the construction of the Sagrada Familia is covered only by donations (including visitor ticket prices), and it is a rule not to borrow at all, so the funds will soon run out. Noda. So it was quite a blow that the number of visitors decreased due to Corona.

The Sagrada Familia consists of 18 towers, but the main one, the tower of Jesus, is still to be built, so it will take some time.

This Jesus tower is 172.5 meters high. Gaudi was very particular about this number.

Why?

Barcelona has a tall hill called MontjuĆÆc Hill, which is 173 meters high. Gaudi insisted that anything made by human hands should not exceed the height of nature, which is a gift from God, and that the height should be 173 meters or less.

Still, at 172.5 meters, it is the tallest religious building in Europe. In the future, it seems that it will be like an observatory.

By the way, respecting this idea, Barcelona prohibits the construction of buildings over 173 meters. If you come here, you will find that there is not a single so-called skyscraper.

Perfect for my fear of heights. Climb high and you'll get that Mariah Carey-class falsetto with a seven-octave range.

A long time ago, when I traveled alone to the island of Capri, Italy, when I was walking along a cliff, my legs froze and I let out a voice higher than that of another diva, Celine Dion. A female student from Japan who happened to be there said,

"That voice is dangerous."

I was really annoyed. If you're going to say that, I wanted you to hug me from behind and support me when I was unsteady on my feet.

Like Jack played by that Dicaprio.

Now that we've digressed, let's get back to the Sagrada Familia.

Perhaps the most famous part of the exterior is the nativity faƧade, consisting of four towers , which is the present entrance.

And on the other side is the equally famous FaƧade of Passion. Perhaps if you search for Sagrada Familia on Google, the photo that comes up is a photo with the nativity facade in front.

It is the oldest and only faƧade built while Gaudi was still alive, and the color of the stone on the surface has turned black as if to tell the history.

Like birth, this faƧade is decorated with sculptures celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, giving it a gorgeous and happy feeling.

The original sculptures were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, so the sculptures that are currently on display are relatively new. It was

To be a Japanese participating in this project is truly one who has made history (only for sculptors!)!

One cushion!

The Passion faƧade also consists of four towers, which, as the name suggests, are relatively simple in order to represent the suffering of Christ. The sculptures displayed here also represent the scene from the Last Supper to the execution and ascension with 14 sculptures.

Once inside, the stained glass is what catches your eye. Depending on the position of the sun, the color of the light that shines inside changes and is very beautiful.

The stained glass on the faƧade of Birth is colored in a sea blue that evokes life, the green that evokes a forest, and the faƧade of Suffering in flames and red that evokes passion.

The faƧade of birth faces west and the faƧade of passion faces east . In other words, since the sun shines in from the west in the morning, the interior of the Sagrada Familia turns bright blue and green, and turns reddish in the evening.

From such a lush glow to a fiery red, the condition of the light of this day expresses the life of Christ.

Therefore, it is nice to be able to see different aspects of the Sagrada Familia depending on the time of day you visit.

By the way, my personal recommendation is at 9:00 in the morning when it is the least busy, but experts say that the light condition is the most beautiful in the evening when the sun is shining.

When you step through the entrance, you feel as if you have stepped into a forest. It is said that Gaudi also made it with such an image.

When you enter, you will see four large pillars that look like trees.

It stands out among the 36 pillars . It is said that there is also a diameter of 2.1 m . And we use very strong stone from Italy. The columns in this section are especially important. Because the 172.5m tall Christ Tower will be built in this area, the weight of that amount must be supported.

When you buy an admission ticket, you have to choose whether to climb the tower or not, or if you choose to climb, choose the Tower of Birth or the Tower of Passion.

By the way, I've only climbed the Tower of Nativity . As the oldest tower built by Gaudi, it is overwhelmingly popular with tourists.

However, there are many intellectuals who say that the Tower of Passion is better because it is extremely narrow and the scenery from the top does not change.

In any case, the view of Barcelona seen from the tower is very beautiful!

Both have elevators to go up, but you have to go down a spiral staircase, so people with a fear of heights should be careful.

By the way, I have a fear of heights, but this time there was no falsetto . That's because you can't see much below.

However, after getting off, my back hurt and I needed a corset.

Then, I got hungry and wanted to eat Osho's fried rice set.

By the way, my favorite music is rock, but Eminem is my favorite karaoke , and I'm good at rhyming.

So, there's still a lot to write about the Sagrada Familia, but if you're tired of your father's jokes, let's save it for fun when you come to Barcelona.

By the way, we are actually an EC site for children's clothing in Spain . lol Did you know?

The autumn/winter line-up is finally here! Below are my husband's favourites. Please pick it up and feel Spain from the vivid colors.

In addition to cuteness and coolness, we are also particular about materials and comfort, such as 100% organic cotton (note: there are different things inside).

We convey the goodness of Spain through children's clothing.

Come as a gift!

Well, let's set our hair and go out today ā™Ŗ
