Hello! It's been two weeks since the new year started. We hope this is a good start for you and your children!
Here in Spain, the new academic year (in schools) starts in September, so it doesn't feel like a fresh start over the long spring break, but there is only one week of spring break. It's called Semana Santa this week.
We also have school holidays and we don't have a soccer game for kids that usually happens every weekend, so let's definitely go on a trip this week! I was snorting and enthusiastic. Yes, I wasn't really supposed to be blogging at home today, I was supposed to be in Amalfi, Italy. . . but! Both children have a fever of 40 degrees. . . I had to cancel my entire itinerary and stay at home. tears
I wanted to eat Italian food along the coast. . . Oh Sole Mio
So what exactly is Semana Santa (Holy Week)? Easter (Christian Resurrection) is famous around the world at this time of year, and people eat egg-shaped chocolates. becomes an important religious event. Holy Week is said to be the week of Passion, when Christ died on Friday and was resurrected on Sunday (Easter). It is so called in the sense that it commemorates the suffering until Friday. Therefore, this memorial parade is held in every Spanish city. It's an eerie parade (although it's misleading), and people dressed like the KKK in the United States (this is also quite misleading) carry a doll of Christ on their shoulders. Apparently, each day of the week has a religious meaning, and the content of the parade seems to change accordingly (and it seems to be completely different depending on the region), but I honestly don't know because I haven't studied enough. lol someone tell me!
(The picture is the parade I saw four years ago at Santiago de Compostela, a famous pilgrimage route.)
It's a sacred week like this, but it's also a week when most people go on vacation while there are people who participate in this parade. No matter what I say, it's a great time for the season. Actually, until last week, it was raining all the time and the temperature was in the low 10s, but suddenly the sun came out this week and the temperature exceeded 20 degrees, making the weather very pleasant for X2. It's light until 21:00. Many hotels along the coast will open from this week, and it is considered the beginning of a long summer. Seasonally, it's a good time to travel. It is also important for winter sports lovers, and it is also the last chance to ski and snowboard in the mountainous areas near the French border, such as Andorra, where there is still barely any snow left. That's why we're all looking forward to this week!
But we . . Even though my daily routine should be good. . . In my first year as a member of society, I wondered if it was wrong that I secretly brought milk from the company home to save money. . . But if you catch a cold at a time like this, you'll be fine and ready to go to school next week!
